Nothing to Wear is a short campaign that critiques the capitalist framework of production and consumption within the fashion industry, a society where more is always better, and the psychological desire to accumulate becomes a gateway to belonging.
A naked woman serves as the visual thread throughout the film, embodying the emptiness beneath our consumer-driven skin, the void we endlessly fill with things.
These clips invite viewers to pause, reflect, and question the necessity behind their buying decisions. The campaign's vision was to build awareness through conceptual storytelling, drawing on nostalgic Y2K aesthetics rooted in Western cinema. Grainy edits and playful sound design transport you somewhere between a FOREVER 21 store and your childhood bedroom, capturing that familiar ritual of calling a friend before a night out and asking the inevitable: What are you going to wear?
Nothing to Wear was brought to life by a brilliant Ecuadorian team of photographers, videographers, sound designers, and assistant art directors. Watch the clips in order; the accompanying photos extend the visual narrative
